May Chang .. ah... one of my favourite essential oils. lemony fresh, but not in a sharp squinty lemon in the eye sort of a way. May Chang is also called Litsea cubeba (the botanical name), or just plain old Litsea. I'm sure it has other names,, as most essential oils do, but these are the names I use.

Litsea cubeba, more commonly called May Chang, is native to regions in Southeast Asia, including Taiwan, Indonesia, and China. This evergreen grows up to 12 meters high and is also known as mountain pepper. The oils produced in the leaf and fruit have a strong lemon smell. May Change essential oil is used in aromatherapy and for treating various skin disorders.
