Health Benefits And Uses Of Hemp Oil

As with other plants in the known world, cannabis has a variety of cousins, and some of them do not have any, or very low, THC (scientifically known as tetrahydrocannabinol). As a crop commonly grown for industrial use, it is harvested for its seed, oil, and fibre. In the cosmetics market, the oil is often used as a binding agent, and the fibre provides more strength in building supplies and consumer goods. Let's take a look at some benefits and uses of Hemp Oil which is both sold at and used by Plant Essentials. (see here).

High in the Omega family of fats, this oil is often found in the cold storage areas of health food stores because research indicates high temperatures change the unsaturated fats into saturated fats. However, as an oil used in salad dressings it becomes one of the highest sources of protein and an excellent choice for  vegetarians and vegans.

When used in cosmetics and skin care this natural product assists in slowing down the aging process, increases elasticity and helps keep skin soft and supple. It is often used in powders, lipsticks, salves and other health aids simply because it has a reparative quality.  It makes an excellent moisturiser and can even be used on the hair to combat dryness and brittle ends.

Unfortunately, when talking about hemp the first thing that comes to mind is how much THC does this product contain, but the amount is so low that it doesn't come near most regulations of quality control.  Having said that some countries have opted for very conservative readings of content that hinder the health benefits their citizens should be able to enjoy.

There are very few plants that offer so many health benefits as hemp oil which is extremely high in essential fatty acids, Omega 6 and Omega 3.  Hemp oil regulates epidermal water loss; reverses the effects of LDL (bad cholesterol) and thins the blood, so is helpful in assisting with diabetes, circulation and varicose veins.  Although those who are taking prescription blood thinners should be extremely careful. Hemp Oil works on regulating hormonal imbalances and helps reduce difficulties with PMS and menopause.  It is a wonderful immune system booster and works to build a natural internal barrier against microbes as well as improving gut help.  Hemp oil has been known to alleviate  rheumatoid arthritis, psoriasis and is used as a preventative measure for multiple sclerosis, schizophrenic psychosis, and even xxxxxx.

One of the most exciting things about hemp is how eco-friendly it is and what it can bring us for the future. Grown much like wheat in a large field it is eventually cut and bundled much the same and offers genuine hope of replacing the use of plastics. Hemp fibre is not only edible, but it is also biodegradable, and it has been used to make ropes and clothing for hundreds of years and more recently for insulation, wall boards and such items as paper plates, drink cups and bottles.
