At Plant Essentials we support North Queensland based animal welfare organisations. Sometimes in life we
forget how lucky we are. We spend lots of time trying to make ends meet and we forget what life is really all about.

organisations like the reef HQ Turtle Hospital (www.reefhq.com.au) & the Sea Turtle Foundation

Sea Turtle Foundation is a non-profit, non-government group working to protect and conserve sea turtles
through research, education, awareness and action. You can go to their website directly to make a
donation, or why not pop your loose change in the Sea Turtle Donation Tin at the front counter of Plant Essentials.

Reef HQ Aquarium is building a dedicated facility, where sick and injured marine turtles can be cared
for and rehabilitated. Turtle hospital will play a key role in treating acute and chronic ailments and
rehabilitate turtles so they can be released back to the Ocean.

Reef HQ is currently rehabilitating turtles within a makeshift capacity and welcomes, contributions to
ensure construction of a facility that will enable the best possible care for marine turtles, ultimately
influencing their survival as a species.

It is expected the hospital will be built by the 1 July 2009 and will provide short, medium and in some
cases long term care. The hospital will be built at the Aquarium, utilising environmental best practice to
ensure a minimal carbon footprint.

The new facility will provide visitors with an opportunity to see and learn about the plight of marine sea
turtles, through educational talks and guided tours of the hospital.
